If you've never had a professional massage before, the idea can feel a little intimidating. What do you wear? What do you say? What if the pressure is too much or not enough? What if you're ticklish, or you make noise, or you fall asleep? I want you to know that every single one of these questions is normal, common, and something I navigate with first-time clients every week. By the time your session begins, you'll feel completely at ease — and by the time it ends, you'll wonder why you waited so long.
Here's how it works at Soothe & Sage. You book online through Vagaro or call or text me at 509-263-6099. When you arrive at the studio in Spokane's Garland District, I'll greet you and we'll have a conversation about what's going on with your body, where you're experiencing tension or pain, any health considerations I should know about, and what you're hoping to get from the session. This intake conversation is your time — ask anything you want. There are no silly questions, and knowing what you need helps me give you a better session.
I'll step out while you undress to your comfort level and get under the sheet and blanket on the table. You control how much clothing you remove — most clients undress fully or to their underwear, but you are always properly draped throughout the session. Only the area being worked on is uncovered, and your comfort and modesty are always respected. Once you're settled, I'll knock before entering and we'll begin.
During the session, I'll check in about pressure. Please speak up if something feels too deep or not deep enough — this is your session and adjusting pressure is a normal, expected part of the process. Some people talk, some are quiet, some fall asleep. There's no wrong way to receive a massage. I adapt every session to what your body needs that day using whichever modalities will serve you best — red light therapy, Himalayan salt stones, steamed towels, aromatherapy, cupping, and warm packs. All of these are included at no extra charge.
After the session, I'll step out while you dress, then we'll talk about what I found, any areas of focus for future sessions, and how you're feeling. Drink plenty of water afterward and enjoy the best sleep of your life that night. Every session at Soothe & Sage is $135 for 60 minutes or $165 for 90 minutes with no add-on fees — the price you see is the price you pay.
