Restore What Your Hands Do Best

Your hands are your primary tools for interacting with the world, and when they hurt, everything becomes harder. Wrist pain that flares when you type, hand stiffness that makes opening a jar feel like a challenge, thumb pain from endless scrolling, finger stiffness that's worst in the morning — these aren't small complaints. They affect your work, your hobbies, your independence, and your quality of life in ways that are hard to overstate.

Carpal tunnel symptoms are among the most common hand and wrist complaints I see. The carpal tunnel is a narrow passageway in your wrist through which the median nerve and nine flexor tendons travel. When the forearm flexor muscles become chronically tight from typing, gripping, or repetitive use, their tendons swell and compress the nerve, producing numbness, tingling, weakness, and that aching pain that can wake you up at night. But carpal tunnel symptoms don't always originate at the wrist — tight scalenes in the neck, compressed thoracic outlet structures, and trigger points in the forearm can all mimic or contribute to these symptoms.

When I work on hand and wrist pain, I treat the entire pathway from the neck and shoulder down through the forearm and into the hand itself. Releasing the forearm flexors and extensors reduces tendon tension within the carpal tunnel. Working the intrinsic muscles of the hand — the tiny muscles between the finger bones and in the thumb pad — relieves grip tension and finger stiffness directly. And addressing the upstream contributors in the shoulder and neck ensures the problem isn't being fed from above.

Red light therapy is especially effective for wrist and hand conditions because the tissue is close to the surface, allowing the therapeutic wavelengths to penetrate directly to inflamed tendons and compressed nerves. Warm Himalayan salt stones on the forearms help tight muscles release before I work into the deeper layers. As a massage therapist, my own hands are my livelihood — I understand personally how important hand health is, and I take it seriously when clients come to me with these concerns.

Every session at Soothe & Sage includes red light therapy, cupping, salt stones, steamed towels, aromatherapy, and warm packs at one flat rate with no add-on fees. Your hands do so much for you — let's give them the care they need.

Carpal Tunnel Support

Releasing forearm flexors reduces tendon swelling in the carpal tunnel, easing nerve compression and reducing numbness, tingling, and wrist pain.

Hand Mobility

Working the intrinsic hand muscles restores finger flexibility, reduces grip tension, and improves the hand stiffness that limits daily function.

Thumb & Finger Relief

Targeted massage on the thenar eminence and finger joints addresses thumb pain, finger stiffness, and the cramping that comes from repetitive hand use.

Full Pathway Treatment

Addressing the neck, shoulder, and forearm alongside the hand ensures upstream tension sources aren't perpetuating your wrist and hand symptoms.

Red Light for Wrist Healing, Always Included

Red light therapy penetrates superficial wrist tissue effectively, reducing tendon inflammation and supporting nerve recovery. At Soothe & Sage, it's included with every session alongside cupping, salt stones, steamed towels, aromatherapy, and warm packs — no add-on fees.
